The Dahlia Breeders Association (DBA) located at De Kwakel (the Netherlands) introduces the new Dahlia brand ABBEY®. Under this name, DBA is launching new Dahlia varieties. DBA is a collaboration between breeder Agriom Trade BV and ornamental horticulture entrepreneur Karel van Rijn.

FOCUS

Since 2021, DBA established a special breeding program. The breeding of Dahlia takes place in De Kwakel, the Netherlands. The focus lies on extending shelf life while also seeking spectacular flower colors and shapes.

In Limuru, Kenya, Agriom has its own location where selections are being trialed under equatorial circumstances.

Providing disease-free plant material is fundamental. The propagation of Dahlia is managed in-house using tested virus-free mother plants. Plant material is produced in De Kwakel (the Netherlands) and offered as rooted cuttings.
